Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She is currently working as a sportscaster at ESPN and is anchor for SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She began working for ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since age nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami in which she worked with the producers of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was promoted to an reporter at the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of the Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 the 22nd of November, 1985. Her older sister is also hers. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. In 1992, her parents divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was a naval engineer who passed away in the year 2006 from kidney cancer. The summer in 2006 she took one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed at the time. As a senior at high school, but knowing exactly about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta went to her local University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her needs. In the end she fell in love with the campus. And they offered her an academic major. She graduated from school and was went to the university with a major in media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the manager for WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was an affiliate. He encouraged her to be self-confident and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply affected her. She determined to live up to his standards and never fail him.
